How Our Interns Use AI to Out-Produce 5-Year Industry Veterans

We're going to show you something uncomfortable.

In a normal commercial cleaning company, a 5-year veteran salesperson produces around 15-25 bid proposals per week. They've got the templates dialed, they've got the pricing in their head, they know the verticals. That's a good output for an experienced person.

Our interns produce 40-60 bid proposals per week.

Same templates? No. Same pricing? Yes. Same person? No, they have less than a year of industry experience.

The difference is AI. Here's exactly how.

Case 1: The Bid Generator

Traditional workflow for one bid proposal:

  1. Read the RFP, pull scope and SF (15 min)
  2. Calculate price using the company curve (5 min)
  3. Open the bid template, copy-paste scope, swap addresses (15 min)
  4. Email it to the GC contact (5 min)
  5. Log it in the CRM (10 min)

Total: ~50 minutes per bid. At 8 hours a day, max realistic output is about 10 bids. In practice, with interruptions and meetings, it's 4-6.

Intern workflow with AI:

  1. Paste the RFP into Claude, ask for: project name, address, SF, scope. (30 seconds)
  2. Run the SF through a pricing function. (10 seconds)
  3. Use a templating script that takes the extracted data and outputs a PDF. (5 seconds)
  4. Generate the email body with Claude using a fixed prompt. (30 seconds)
  5. Write to the CRM via API. (5 seconds)

Total: ~3-5 minutes per bid. The intern's bottleneck stops being labor and becomes incoming RFP volume.

Case 2: The Prospect Researcher

We need to find facilities managers at 50 retail chains every week to feed our outreach engine. Traditional workflow:

One senior person could realistically deliver 5-8 verified contacts per day.

Intern workflow:

One intern with this workflow produces 50-75 verified contacts per day. That's a 10x improvement, and the intern can't legally drink at the company holiday party yet.

Case 3: The Photo Documentation Producer

After every service, we deliver before/after photo documentation to the customer. A traditional workflow: download 40 photos from the field tech's phone, label them, build a PDF in InDesign, send. About 2-3 hours per project.

Intern workflow: drop the photos into a folder, run a Puppeteer + HTML script that paginates them into a 3-column grid with numbered tags, captures it as PDF, and uploads to the CRM. About 5 minutes.

The intern who built this script no longer does it manually. The script does it. The intern moves on to the next thing.

The Compound Effect

Here's the part most people miss. The veteran sales rep producing 25 bids a week is at the top of their game. They cannot easily go higher without sacrificing quality. Their throughput is capped by their hands and hours.

The intern producing 40-60 bids a week is using maybe 30% of their workflow's actual capacity. The script can run faster. The bottleneck has moved from "person making bids" to "people sending us RFPs." When that flips, the intern starts ranking the incoming pipeline by win probability and only bidding the best ones. Now they're not just outproducing the veteran, they're out-thinking them about what to even work on.

Multiply this across an entire team and you have a small company that operates like a much larger one. We see it every day. We bid against firms with 50 employees and we're winning consistently with a fraction of the headcount.

What This Means for You

If you're a college student wondering whether your future career will be hard or easy, here's the honest answer: it will be both.

Hard, because the bar for entry-level work just got higher. Companies expect more output per hire now. A 2026 hire is competing against an AI-augmented existing team.

Easy, because if you learn this toolkit before graduation, you walk in already operating at senior throughput levels. You're not waiting for years of experience to make you valuable. You're valuable on day one.

The bridge between those two realities is an internship where you learn this stack on real projects with real feedback. We built ours. Apply below.
